Craft & Create Program 2024
Studio Playground fosters individual growth for children in our community by using the performing arts. Our Craft & Create Program occurred during our annual summer theater camp in Lincoln Woods State Park in 2024. Students ages 5-11 designed and props and costumes to bring their original characters to life. Under the instruction of professional artists and experienced teachers, students learned skills for collaboration, design, and visual arts. The program focused on individual empowerment as students learned to support one another in their artistic process.
Our Craft & Create Program was made possible by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. We are grateful to RISCA their for support for our mission to foster individual growth for children in our community using the performing arts.

Studio Playground teaches classes for all ages based in movement and physical acting. Classes integrate arts education with core concepts for social-emotional learning including self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship skills. Students explore the benefits of laughter through movement, performance, and playful improvisation. In our annual theater camp in Lincoln Woods State Park, students ages 5-11 have a fun-filled week of theater games, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities. Our Create & Create Program provides hands-on crafting projects as students create costumes and props to bring their original show to life. Each week culminates in an outdoor performance for friends and family.
